This walkthrough will go over what you need to do after defeating the first boss and obtaining the Tomato Gem in Deep Dish Dungeon. Like the previous guide, this will mostly go over everything that's required, over finding every optional item.
Sewer ExplorationFrom the hub camp, you’ll want to head back to the sewers with the pickaxe. Taken the rope down from behind the stairs in the hub, then go right (go left first if the water isn’t lowered yet). Follow the path and go up the stairs, then break the bars and go through. Make sure the water is lowered, then drop down and find the yellow goo on the wall. The pickaxe can destroy this, revealing another door.
Follow this path along (ignore the stairs) and you’ll pass over some water and eventually reach a camp. The goal from here is to open the closed door, which is actually tied behind a lever underneath the camp.
How to Open the Locked Door
To reveal the room, you need to remove the water first. This is tied to three wheels, similar to the ones you used in the earlier sewers. The first is near the camp, behind some of the yellow goo.
The second is to the left of the locked door, up the ladder.
However, the last wheel takes a bit more work. If you head back to the start of this section of the sewers, you’ll find a chest with a hook in it. You can combine this with rope at a workbench to make a grappling hook. This can be used to make ropes on ledges to climb up.
Use the grappling hook on the ledge near the chest from before, then climb up two ladders. Turn left at the skeleton, then keep following left. You’ll find a gate that can be broken with the hammer, and a lime plant behind. Slightly ahead is the final wheel you need.
Double back, then turn the water wheel in the section you just swam through. This opens up a shortcut back to the hub area past the skeleton.
Now you can return to the sewer camp near the locked door, then descend into the drained section (make sure to grab the grates off the floor). Next to the bottom of the ladder is a door, with some yellow goo behind it. The lever for the door can be reached after destroying the goo.
Water Clock
Continue past the door that you just opened and you’ll encounter a water clock. This causes the water to rise and lower as it ticks to each side. You’ll have to time things right to make it through without being stuck and drowning.
From the water clock, go left and down while the water is drained. From there, climb the ladder directly in front and go onto the platform. Continue along, ignoring the wheel, then jump across the gap to find another wheel.
Turn this second wheel, then wait for the water to be drained. Once the water is gone, drop down and go through the broken gate to the right of the wheel. Follow the path along and climb up the ladder once you reach it. There’s a lever that you call pull, which opens the door back in the water clock passage.
Head back and continue on through the door. The easiest way back is to wait for the water to be up and then swim through the broken gate, before waiting the water to lower again and climbing back up on the left side.
Boat and Fusebox
On the other side you’ll find a boat, along with a fusebox and fuse switch. Like before the first boss, move the switch to the box and turn it on, opening the door nearby. You’ll find everything you need to set up a basic cooking station, along with apples and mushrooms.
Afterwards, bring an iron rod and chains to fix the mechanism needed to start the boat. With it fixed, you can move the boat along the water (you can crouch to make it harder for the bats to see you). After a while you’ll pass a locked door, but you don’t need to go that way just yet.
After reaching the end of the boat ride, you’ll find another two fuse switches. You’ll need to take these all the way back to the start. Once back to the start, add them to the fuse box, then activate the middle switch. From there, had back again, stopping the boat at the locked door from earlier.
Follow the path along to the bottom, going down the ladder. Once at the path split, go under the archway instead of through the broken gate. At the end of this path down the stairs, you’ll encounter a large gate. The water gate cannot be closed until you find its missing handle.
The handle is underneath the stairs you came here from, and must be carried manually. This area is full of large red bats, best dealt with using a bow and arrow. With the lever installed, use it to lower the water in the area.
You’ll find a bunch of metal crafting materials at the bottom (like grates and pots), along with the door handle you need to progress. Unfortunately, you can’t carry climb ladders and carry the handle at the same time, so you need to get creative.
Grab a crate from above, then drop it down. Then place the handle on top (rotate it so the flat side is down). Then, turn the handle by the water gate to flood the area again. The crate will rise with the water, letting you grab the handle.
Next, take the wheel to the broken set of stairs (the opposite side from the stairs you used to come down here.) Grab another crate, place it near the stairs, then add the handle on top. From there, jump onto the crate, then the stairs, and take the handle up and to the door.
The ladder to the right will eventually lead to a manhole cover, which you should open to create a shortcut to the main hub area. This is a good time to eat some food and store materials, as another boss fight is coming up.
Once ready, break the yellow goo and head through.
Giant Moray Eel Boss
The idea for this boss fight is to turn the wheels around the outside of the area to drain the water. You’ll be getting chased by the giant moray eel at all times, but it can’t hit you if you stick to the walls. If you’re running out of stamina, you can follow the wall along until you find a dry area to rest at.
With all the wheels turned, you’ll find the giant eel in the center of the arena. Keep hitting it until the water fills back up, and repeat the process until it’s dead. It’ll drop the Guarana Gem, another key item. Guarana Berries will also spawn next to its corpse.
