This walkthrough will go over the last steps needed to complete Deep Dish Dungeon, including finding the last gem and the location of the final story-related item.
For the fourth and final gem, you wont have to put in too much work. Craft a grappling hook and make sure you have the Axe on you for the next part. From the central hub area, go up the stairs, left, then left again over the wooden plank. Once you reach the spiral staircase, go up instead of down like you did previously.
In this room, go to the left wall and look up. There’s a door in an odd location, and you can use a grappling hook to create a rope up to it. Once through the door, cross over to the other side of the room (grab a couple of the glowing mushrooms) and destroy the roots using the Axe.
Inside the chest behind the roots is the final gem, the Corn Gem. You’ll also find a Grinding Stone, an item used for higher tier weapon upgrades.
Progression Towards Endgame, Plus an Extra Useful Item
After returning to camp, store all but one of the gems for now and go up the stairs. Above the locked door is a gap in the roof. It can be hard to see, but while holding a grappling hook a prompt will appear if aiming in the correct location. Use the grappling hook to make a path up into the hole.
After you get through, you can drop down from the platform and turn around to find more roots. Behind them is the locked door we mentioned earlier, which can now be opened to make another shortcut.
Before continuing through the area, go back up the rope you made, then head left across the pillar. Go through the gold door, then keep going until you reach the chest (it contains crafting materials needed for explosives. Then, turn around and go up through the gap. Follow this along and up the rocks until you reach an area that is lit up.
If you use explosives to remove the rocks in the center, you can head back to the start of this area and turn the lever by the fountain to turn the lights on. This also causes corn to grow nearby.
Note: The next section goes over a puzzle related to a useful item, the Lantern. If you just want to reach the end, skip here.
How to Find the Lantern
After turning on the fountain, go to the opposite side from the previously locked wooden door. Above, you’ll see a balcony you can grapple up to. After heading up and through the door, go left and open the chest. The Vision Elixir will let you see the invisible enemies in the area, though you’ll need the Silver Dagger you got near the start to kill them. Make sure to keep the bottle, you’ll need it later.
Return to the fountain, then head right and through the door in the wall. If you continue forward you’ll reach a statue. Use any of the gems on it to reveal a chest with a grinding stone, then take the gem back. Turn around and head up the stairs, then keep following the stairs up until you reach a bridge. Underneath it is a vine heart, which you can destroy to remove the vines and hostile flowers nearby.
Double back and head right, up the stairs and through the door. You’ll find another statue, so place a gem then take it back right after. This opens up a hidden doorway nearby, with a fountain in the middle. Behind it is a lever, opening up a spiral staircase shortcut back to the main hub area. The glowing murals on the wall are hits towards an upcoming puzzle.
From here, double back to the door just before the starting fountain, then look right. Destroy the vine heart if you haven’t already to open the door and continue on. On the right are some rocks, which reveal another spiral staircase when destroyed.
At the top is a sundial, which is part of the solution for a puzzle coming up. If you look to the right, you’ll also see a camp that can be reached by climbing down some vines along the wall.
Head back down the spiral staircase and go right, into a somewhat lit room. Take out the plants by destroying the vine heart on the left (use the stairs and jump across to the rock). There’s another hint for an upcoming puzzle via the mural on the wall.
From the mural, head left and up the sets of stairs. There’s one final hint for the upcoming puzzle, this being the patterns on the wall. This is all you’ll need from this area for now, so head back to the hub area camp.
Make sure you have a few grappling hooks handy, then head up the stairs. From there, go left until you reach the three way split, then go right. You’ll find a spiral staircase with a rope, so climb up it. Then, use a grappling hook to create another rope on the stairs above you.
Use the Axe at the top to clear the way, and you’ll find an area full of explosive fungi. You can bait them into exploding by getting close, then running away to avoid the damage. Head to the left side of the room and you’ll run into a drop down below. Instead of dropping, use another grappling hook to make a rope on the ruined platform above.
After climbing up (be careful of the exploding fungi) follow the path along until you reach the room where you can hear running water and turn left. Down the stairs takes you to the fountain itself, which you’ll then go right of.
Go up the spiral staircase, and you’ll enter a strangely lit room. The constellation-like lighting will keep rotating, but there’s a section that looks similar to the glowing murals from before. Head to the opposite side of where you entered this room and there’s another spiral staircase, with a lever at the top.
Circle Door Puzzle Solution
The door has three different circles, each corresponding to one of the hints we found earlier. The small circle should be set to the rose, matching the constellation that’s spinning around the outside. The medium circle should be set to the symbol the sundial pointed to earlier (it’s hard to tell them apart, but it’s the one with the sprout-like section in the middle).
The final wheel is tied to the symbols we saw on the wall in the previous section. The one we need was not present on the wall, that being two “V” shapes with a dot on the top. With the wheels aligned, pull the lever to reveal the Lantern (don’t worry if you make a mistake, it just revives the skeleton by the door). While not needed for the ending, it acts as an infinite light source which is great for when you're cleaning up missing secrets.
Final Room
Now you’re almost at the end of the game. Store everything non-essential and take all four gems with you. From there, go up the stairs and through the doors you unlocked earlier. Past the fountain and some roots, you’ll find a large door with four statues in front. Place all the gems onto the statues, and you’ll find the last room.
Inside is an offering plate, which tells you to place something in it. The hint for what exactly you need is on the floor by the large double doors (you can use the blue glowing Azurea Mushrooms to make them clearer). This is pointing to the ingredients you need for the offering: Corn Dough, Cheese, and Tomato. All for the game’s namesake, a Deep Dish Pizza.
Deep Dish Pizza RecipeFor Corn Dough, you’ll need a Cooking Table (2 Wood Planks, 1 Leather). Then combine 1 Wild Corn (near the fountain on the way to the final room) and a Water Bottle (Empty Bottles can be found lying around, or are left after drinking a potion).
For Cheese and Tomato, go up the stairs in the main hub area, left, then left again. Across the plank and up the stairs you’ll run into the room you passed through for the Corn Gem. Instead of going left, go right and use a grappling hook to reach the door up above. Past it you’ll find lots of Cheese and Tomatoes lying around.
With all ingredients acquired, head back to the Cooking Table and craft the Raw Deep Dish Pizza (it’s the final option in the list). Then, make an oven and cook the pizza. If you’re in need of coal for the oven, take the stairs down from the hub into the area full of coal and scrap.
With the Deep Dish Pizza in hand, buff up and head back to the altar. Place the pizza, then start pushing the altar along. It will occasionally lock in place, requiring you to kill a few golden skeletons before being able to progress. After taking them out, keep repeating this until you push the altar to the end, revealing the last treasure. Taking it will trigger the credits, but you’ll still be able to keep playing after they’re over.
Congratulations, you've reached the end of Deep Dish Dungeon. While there are a number of optional puzzles to find, this is everything you need to see the credits. If you do plan on finding everything, then the lantern will be a useful tool to speed up progression.
