Bermaz Motor has wrapped up its 12th Annual Mazda Charity Golf Tournament at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, continuing a decade-long tradition of blending sport with community welfare.

The 12th Annual Mazda Charity Golf Tournament was held across two days on 9 and 10 October 2026. The tournament gathered a strong turnout of 200 participants, uniting corporate partners, government officials, Mazda vehicle owners, and golf enthusiasts under a shared humanitarian cause.

The event serves as the premier annual fundraising driver for the Mazda Medicare Fund (MMF), an initiative dedicated to delivering life-saving medical aid and financial relief to vulnerable, underprivileged communities throughout Malaysia.

The charitable luncheon on 10 October was graced by Royal Patron His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah. His Royal Highness has served as the Royal Patron of the Mazda Medicare Fund since 2015, continuously championing grassroots community causes.

Also in attendance were Director General of Health Malaysia Datuk Dr Mahathar bin Abdul Wahab, Pahang State Executive Council Member YB Dato Mohamad Nizar bin Dato Sri Mohamad Najib, and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid

Reflecting on the event’s evolution, Bermaz Auto Berhad Executive Chairman Tan Sri Dato Sri Ben Yeoh noted that the tournament has grown far beyond a weekend sporting contest. He stressed that corporate social responsibility must be lived in action rather than merely stated, emphasizing that the Mazda Medicare Fund was built on giving without expectation.

During the official luncheon, representatives from five vetted beneficiary bodies were called to the stage to receive symbolic mock donations to fund their continuous daily care operations:

• Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Yatim Dan Cacat Perlindungan Selangor
• Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim Sai Pandian
• Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Dan Asnaf Kampung Sijangkang
• Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah

These beneficiaries span urgent oncology support, specialized disability assistance, and protective shelter for orphaned and underprivileged children. Bermaz maintains that every contribution directed to the fund goes straight toward charitable causes without unnecessary administrative overheads.

Established in 2015 via a partnership between franchise holder Prima Merdu Sdn Bhd and renal healthcare provider B. Braun Avitum Renal Services, the Mazda Medicare Fund was originally created to provide subsidized haemodialysis treatment for end-stage renal failure patients facing heavy financial strain. Over the past decade, its reach has systematically broadened to assist old folks’ homes, orphanages, and special-needs childcare facilities across the nation.

To keep fundraising active outside the annual tournament, Bermaz introduced the Mazda Privilege Card (MPC) in 2018.

For a one-time sign-up contribution of RM100, which goes straight into the fund and qualifies for LHDN tax exemption, Mazda owners gain ongoing ownership perks. Cardholders enjoy a 15% discount on selected genuine Mazda spare parts and a 5% waiver on labor charges at authorized Bermaz and Prima Merdu service centers nationwide, integrating daily car ownership into an ongoing vehicle for social upliftment.
