UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has closed out the third quarter of 2026 with robust delivery numbers, registering over 24,500 vehicles between July and September.
The third-quarter haul pushes the company’s year-to-date (YTD) sales tally past the 60,800-unit mark, reaffirming the brand’s enduring hold on the non-national passenger vehicle crown in Malaysia.

Against a backdrop of aggressive regional competition and shifting customer preferences, UMWT’s strategy centers on reinforcing long-term ownership trust through digital customer service integration and expanding physical infrastructure under its global Multi-Pathway decarbonisation roadmap.

With automotive retail evolving rapidly and buyers placing higher weight on hassle-free vehicle maintenance, UMWT is refining its touchpoints to ensure vehicle ownership remains as practical, connected, and confidence-inspiring as possible.

Under its Multi-Pathway approach—which caters simultaneously to pure battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and self-charging hybrids (HEVs)—UMWT has partnered with established charging point operators chargEV and JomCharge to deploy public charging bays across Toyota and Lexus premises:
By turning familiar dealership locations into accessible charging pitstops and simplifying everyday service scheduling via digital channels, UMW Toyota Motor is fortifying its ecosystem to defend its market leadership as the Malaysian passenger car market heads toward deeper electrification.
