It's time Chooms! After the Beta release to crowdfunding backers, the full retail release of the Cyberpunk TCG - Welcome to Night City is nearly here. To celebrate, we open a retail booster box to see what rares we find.

The Cyberpunk TCG smashed through Kickstarter and crowdfunding records earlier this year. The card game based on the Cyberpunk roleplaying game and the subsequent video game Cyberpunk 2077 and anime Edgerunners (which has a new season releasing today, 20 Oct), was released to Beta last month, with products reaching crowdfunding backers, and is now set to release to retail on 06 Nov, with the pre-release weekend starting on 30 Oct. Ahead of the full release, WeirdCo. kindly sent us a booster box to open. In this article, we open that box of Cyberpunk TCG Welcome to Night City Retail booster packs and share our pulls with you.
This is our second Cyberpunk TCG feature, you can check out our Beta Booster Box Opening to see how we did there with pulls. We've been huge fans of Cyberpunk for a while, and you can check out our review of the Cyberpunk Red RPG, our preview of some Cyberpunk miniatures, our review of the recent Cyberpunk 2077 Gangs of Night City board game, our coverage of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, or our guide to other great Cyberpunk games.
The first expansion for the Cyberpunk TCG is Welcome to Night City, which contains 140 mechanically unique cards, plus 31 alternate arts. The Cyberpunk TCG has some standard and original rarities for their packs, these include:
There are also:
It should be worth noting here that the Welcome to Night City Retail Booster boxes contain 24 packs, and the Beta version contained 36. Mechanically, there is no difference between the Beta and Retail packs, but all Beta cards have a B by the card number, and the 31 Iconic Rares have different artwork between the Beta and Retail cards.
We're only going to be showing images of the 2x Rare slots for each pack, not the 7x commons or 2x uncommons that we pulled, and we'll only be discussing the rares.
Pack 1Our first pack is a double yellow standard rare pull, with Alt Cunningham, Mother of Daemons, and River Ward, Detective on the Hunt. I've got a bone to pick with River as he screwed me in the Beta Pre-release event. My choice of legends was bad, so I had to take River, and I drew very little equipment for my deck that worked, so I ended up with a dead Legend who did very little other than providing eddies and cheering my other legends on.
Pack 2In our second pack, we got another double yellow pull, with 1 standard rare and our first Iconic Rare of the Retail set with The Relic, Experimental Biochip. The photo doesn't do the card justice, as the etchings run right to the end of the lines at the top of the card, and the artwork is absolutely stellar.
Pack 3Our third pack gets us an epic and a standard rare, with our fifth yellow card and (Don't Fear) The Reaper. I drew The Reaper during the pre-release and thought it was going to do some crazy work shutting down my opponents, but I drew it first every game and had to play it for eddies as the tempo was pretty high early game.
Pack 4Our fourth pack gets us another yellow, with an epic rare and standard rare. Here we get the standard version of The Relic, and while the art is solid, the difference in those iconic rares makes them worth chasing. Lizzy Wizzy is a solid unit for Blue, letting you reuse a spent program on play and then acting as a blocker.
Pack 5Our fifth pack gets us another epic rare and standard rare, with a double green pull. Both Legends here. This pair would have been an incredible pull during a sealed event, especially if you can keep pace selling eddies to keep their abilities working, allowing you to cycle to find equipment cards for Panam.
Pack 6Our sixth pack gets us 2 standard rares with blue and red pulls. Placide won me most of my Beta pre-release games, clearing out rival units and taking 2 gigs per attack. He's an absolute monster in sealed format.
Pack 7In our seventh pack we get another 2 standard rares, 1 blue, 1 red, and it's always great to get V in the same pack as Dying Night. This is a sealed tournament dream pull.
Pack 8Our eighth pack sees us get another 2 standard rares, 1 yellow and 1 green, and Hanko here is a constant reminder of how I'm still chasing any of her Iconic Rares in either the Beta or the Retail packs. She's been super elusive for me.
Pack 9Our ninth pack gets us 2 more standard rares, 1 yellow and 1 green like the last pack. While I like Sandayu's art here, his Retail Iconic Rare's art is exceptional, full of brutal Cyberpunk life.
Pack 10Our tenth pack gets us an absolute win with the Iconic Rare Adam Smasher, Ender of Legends, which has incredible art, and even in the photo, you can see the detail etching that brings it to life. This was one of my chase cards for the retail Iconics, so I'm glad I got it early.
Pack 11Our eleventh pack sees us get a secret rare Panam Palmer, Strength Through Family, and a standard red rare. Panam's card draw ability is excellent, and in the sealed format does a lot of work if you're lucky enough to pull one.
Pack 12Our twelfth pack sees us get 2 standard rares, both green, and again a thematic link with Hanako and her bodyguard, along with more mocking for my lack of Hanako Iconic Rares. I do love the art on Daughter of the Emperor, Hanako there has so much presence, and the card draw ability is insanely handy.
Pack 13Our thirteenth pack gives us an epic rare and a standard rare. Both of these are solid cards, with Overwatch giving a solid stat boost and a great discard ability to clear out lower-cost enemies, and Dexter with a great optional call ability and the ability to raise your gigs each turn.
Pack 14Our fourteenth pack gives us 2 standard rares with another Placide and Shattered Memories. Shattered Memories is great in a faster Red-focused deck, and the redraw is extremely handy.
Pack 15Our fifteenth pack gives us an epic rare and a standard rare. We get the standard art Adam Smasher Ender of Legends here and another Dying Night.
Pack 16Our sixteenth pack gives us 2 standard rares with another Hanako and Jackie Wells, Mama's Favorite. Jackie is a solid Go Solo legend with the optinality to defend a better unit on the board if required.
Pack 17Our seventeenth pack gives us 2 more standard rares. I talked about Meredith in the previous booster box opening, and my opinion hasn't changed. Meredith can do a lot of work with a recycling ability and a solid stat line against Legends, with Defender as well as a bonus.
Pack 18Our eighteenth pack gets us 2 more standard rares. Yorinobu Arasaka, Steel Dragon, is fantastic in an Arasaka-heavy deck, letting you draw when in play, and recycle or play a lower-cost unit for free on play.
Pack 19Our nineteenth pack gives us 2 standard rares, with another Meredith and Dum Dum, Maelstrom Triggerman. Dum Dum has a great play ability, and an even better quick power in a gear-focused deck, able to really ramp up the power of units on the board.
Pack 20Our twentieth pack gets us 2 standard rares. Misty enables some great draw power in program-heavy decks that can really power blue up with the readying effect too.
Pack 21Our twenty-first pack gets us 2 standard rares with another Lizzy and The Reaper. Lizzy combines well with Misty in program-heavy decks, letting you reuse from your trash after playing program.
Pack 22Our twenty-second pack gets us an Epic Rare and a standard rare. Johnny's art here is superb, and I love the thematic mechanic of always beating Corpo units.
Pack 23Our twenty-third pack gets us 2 standard rares, both great for drawing, with Fool on the Hill putting the call on your opponent, and Nocturne always having an option for you to play into.
Pack 24Our twenty-fourth pack and final pack gets us 2 standard rares, closing out with V, Streetkid and Pyramid Song. Pyramid Song did some work for me and others in the pre-release, with me able to pull off the dual use with my low dice rolling for gigs.
SummaryHere are the stats for our Cyberpunk TCG Welcome To Night City Retail Booster Box Opening:
