Becca Devens, the wife of Big Brother Season 28 winner Rick Devens, has revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks after her husband celebrated his reality television victory.

The news came as an unexpected turn for the family, who said doctors caught the cancer early through routine mammograms and that Becca is preparing to undergo a double mastectomy.

Becca and Rick shared the update in a joint Instagram video on Oct. 25, asking fans for prayers and positive thoughts as she prepares for surgery. "Rick won Big Brother, and then we came home and I got diagnosed with breast cancer," Becca said in the video, explaining how the difficult news followed shortly after her husband's win.
