MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. The Russian stock indices declined at the start of the main trading session on Tuesday, according to Moscow Exchange (MOEX) data. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan reversed its early gains to trade lower against the ruble.

At the opening of the main session at 09:00 a.m. Moscow time, the benchmark MOEX Russia Index and the dollar-denominated RTS Index both shed 0.43%, slipping to 2,244.56 and 837.7 points, respectively. The yuan initially ticked up by 0.5 kopecks from its previous close to trade at 12.595 rubles.

By 09:15 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX Index extended losses to 2,242.28 points (-0.53%), while the RTS Index dropped to 836.85 points (-0.53%). At the same time, the yuan turned negative, shedding 0.7 kopecks to reach 12.583 rubles.

Earlier, during the early morning session which commenced at 07:00 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX Index had dipped by 0.3% to 2,247.51 points.
