MELITOPOL, September 19. /TASS/. As of 8:00 p.m. Moscow time (5:00 p.m. GMT) the turnout in the elections for State Duma deputies in the Zaporozhye Region, taking into account early voting, stands at 72.88%, the regional election commission said.

"We are summarizing the results of the second day of voting in the Zaporozhye Region. All polling stations completed their work on time, and voting proceeded calmly and without violations. As of 8:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. GMT) the turnout, taking early voting into account, amounted to 72.88%," the commission said on Max messenger.

"This is a good indicator that confirms the active civic stance of the region’s residents."

In the Zaporozhye Region, early voting by house·to·house polling began on September 1. The first to make their choice were the military personnel serving in the special military operation zone, as well as residents of the front·line territories: the Vasiliyevsky, Kamensko·Dneprovsky municipal districts, Energodar, Dneprorudnoye, and Tokmak.

The second stage of early voting for residents of some settlements took place from September 10 to 17.

On September 18, at 08:00 a.m. Moscow time (5:00 a.m. GMT) polling stations in the region opened for the residents to vote for the first time. For all three days of the main voting period, polling stations in rural settlements will operate from 08:00 a.m. (5:00 a.m. GMT) to 2:00 p.m. Moscow time (11:00 a.m. GMT), and in cities and administrative centers - from 08:00 a.m. (5:00 a.m. GMT) to 4:00 p.m. Moscow time (1:00 p.m. GMT).
