Tens of thousands of Southern California residents are at risk of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) as the region faces higher temperatures and strong Santa Ana winds, Southern California Edison (SCE) warned on Wednesday.
Several weather-related advisories related to heat and wind were issued by the National Weather Service for parts of the coast, LA County’s basin and San Bernardino and Riverside County’s valleys. With that, SCE said customers under those advisories may experience a PSPS out of an abundance of caution.
