A guitar that will pair perfectly with your chainmail...
The post “A special edition Minotaur, fit for a Rat Queen”: Dunable launches signature model for Castle Rat’s Riley Pinkerton – but there’s only four available appeared first on Guitar.com | All Things Guitar.
Dunable has unveiled a signature Minotaur guitar for Castle Rat singer and guitarist Riley Pinkerton, but there’s just four of them available.
This ultra-limited guitar, called The Summoner, was designed by Pinkerton herself. Dunable says that she had “a very specific vision” for the guitar so that it would suit their music, and with it being so limited, it is priced at a high-end £2,760.99.
Specs-wise, the guitar has a mahogany body and neck, and an ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo stainless frets. Visually, the model is really quite striking with its gold/white colourshift lacquer finish, further complemented by a custom gold crackle/gold holoflash pickguard.
Other features include a 24.75” scale length for “very fast” playability, gold hardware in keeping with its overall aesthetic, and only “the essential specs needed for heavy riffing”: a single Direwolf pickup and kill switch. It also comes with a hard case to keep it pristine.
The guitar is currently in production, and won’t ship until mid-November. Take a closer look at it below:
Last month, Guitar.com caught up with Pinkerton for a new episode of My Guitars & Me. She walked us through her favourite Gibson SGs, which fittingly show their fair share of battle scars, wear and tear from a suit of chainmail, and even a dash of body glitter.
A true highlight was her #17 SG, which she bought with her relief check during the COVID-19 pandemic: “I bought it used off Reverb. When the pandemic hit, we got a check, so I was like, I’m gonna buy a guitar.’ So that’s what I did,” she shared.
“It’s [got a] chainmail rash instead of buckle rash,” she added. “And everything I own is covered with sparkles, because I wear body glitter onstage, so that’s everywhere.”
