A squabble between a passenger and a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight forced the jet to turn around and fly back to Miami.
The male passenger onboard Flight 339 from Florida to Georgetown, Guyana, allegedly suddenly ran to the flight attendants seated at the back of the Boeing 737 just minutes after take-off.
He then allegedly told an attendant: 'I will take care of you when we land in Guyana.'
'[It was in a] very threatening manner while we were climbing out. They are pretty shaken up,' the pilot told Air Traffic Control during the flight.
The plane was then forced to turn around and returned to Miami International Airport. It is unclear what started the dispute.
Police from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene once the flight landed and passengers were taken off the plane.
'The investigation revealed the passenger and flight attendant were involved in a verbal dispute and no assault was committed,' deputies said in a statement.
Passengers took off just over four hours later at around 11pm, arriving in South America at 3am local time.

The plane was then forced to turn around and returned to Miami International Airport.
The allegedly aggressive passenger was rebooked on a later flight.
American Airlines said in a statement: 'American Airlines Flight 339 returned to MIA shortly after takeoff due to a situation with a customer that required attention.
'Customers will re-depart shortly and we apologize for the inconvenience.'
Last month, a woman was arrested at the Miami airport after she allegedly stripped completely naked and started performing lewd acts in front of passengers.
Officers were waiting at the gate upon the plane's arrival and took the passenger into custody.
Just days earlier, on September 6, another passenger aboard an American Airlines flight was taken into custody after an alleged homophobic and racist rant.

Layne Arthur Lundeen, 67, had to be duct-taped by fellow passengers on a flight from Dallas, Texas, to Newark, New Jersey.
Lundeen, who passengers said appeared to be drunk, began yelling at the male passenger seated next to him at around 10pm, when the flight was about 75 percent of the way through its journey.
The 67-year-old was allegedly going on a tirade about Jesus and going to hell, prompting a flight attendant to come over to see what the commotion was, sources told TMZ.
