Legacy PCIe devices not supported by G9 servers? X64 Exception Type 02 error

Дата публикации: 24-10-2026 13:43:08

I have an HP Proliant DL20 G9 server with BIOS and ILO4 firmware updated to their latest versions. The server has a dual PCIe riser which works properly with newer cards (for example a Qlogic QLE2560). My issues start with plugging in something older like an Adaptec ASC-1405, a 4Gb/s LSI FC card or a Sun F20 accelerator (based on the LSI1068E).The server attempts Early PCI initialization and crashes with a red screen of death with an "X64 Exception Type 02 - NMI detected" error. The error occurs regardless of whether the boot mode is set to UEFI or Legacy BIOS. I'm not sure if there is a specific setting in the BIOS that could fix my issue, or are older PCIe devices simply not expected to work at all in G9 class servers? Is there anything else I should try doing?*Note that the server has zero issues booting or running with newer PCIe devices installed.
