Blizzard will raise the stack size of Prime Evil Splinters in Diablo 4 from 1 to 99 with patch 3.2.4 (build 74043), which arrives on all platforms on October 28, 2026, according to the official Diablo IV patch notes. The change removes the one-per-type limit that has applied to the seasonal items since Season 15 launched a few weeks ago.
Prime Evil Splinters are the seasonal items players use to grant themselves Prime Evil powers. Until now, a character could carry only one of each type at any given time.
Endgame players came up with a demanding workaround that needed help from a second player to get around the limit, and stacks of up to 99 make that workaround obsolete. Patch 3.2.4 lists no other specific changes beyond stability, visual, and UI improvements.
Player Reaction to the Splinter Stack IncreaseThe patch notes describe the change as a stack size increase rather than a bug fix, and it follows weeks of complaints from the Diablo 4 community. Reaction on the game's subreddit has been mixed. The most upvoted comments argue that the change comes too late in Season 15 for players who have already stepped away from the game.
Players do not need to change anything to benefit. Once patch 3.2.4 is installed on October 28, collected Splinters of the same type stack automatically up to 99.
Diablo 4 PTR 3.3.0 Dates and Season 16 ChangesBlizzard is also opening the public test realm for update 3.3.0 from October 27 to November 3, giving players an early look at Season 16 systems. In its developer notes, Blizzard says some features from the Season of Hell's Legacy "will be carrying forward into Season 16," but those features will not be part of the PTR because the team wants to focus on testing new features.
The main changes on the 3.3.0 PTR:
Blizzard says the Tactics system "allows you to tailor your War Plans more closely with both your goals and playstyle." The Druid changes follow two stated goals: stopping Druids from stacking tags as heavily, and giving Resolve and Fortify more weight as build options.
Blizzard has not said which Season of Hell's Legacy features will carry forward into Season 16, and the PTR changes can still be adjusted before update 3.3.0 reaches live servers.
