ELIE SAAB H&M is officially here, and after weeks of it being the talk of the designer collaboration town (no mean feat considering the sheer amount of them at the moment), I'm ready.

I was the first journalist invited to H&M's London showroom to try the collection on and, while I've always assumed my chances of having something in common with Zendaya and Olivia Dean were slim to none, the experience soon proved me wrong.

After the two It-girls have been styled Mr Saab's designs, so, now, have I.

Of course, H&M is no stranger to a collab – but you don't need me to tell you that. If you're here, chances are that you're well-versed in the Scandi brand's line-up of luxury partnerships. Just this May, we were blessed with H&M X Stella McCartney – then in August came the epic H&M X WARDROBE.NYC – both of which sold out within minutes. This one? Given Saab's gravitas, it might just go even quicker.

So, naturally, I wanted to get my hands on it as soon as I could.

My initial thoughts? While ELIE SAAB is renowned for statement ballgowns – there wasn't any. Sequins, lace, 3D textures and jewel tones as seen on the designer's Fall 2026 runway? Sure, plenty, but much more wearable. Think: A sparkling tuxedo jacket and matching trousers, a beaded maxi dress with a scandalous thigh split, and an embellished peplum top. The H&M touch is very prevalent in this line-up, and that's not a bad thing.

Where I was expecting voluminous tulle (the likes you'd only really wear on the red carpet or at a black tie event), I instead found more wardrobe-friendly dresses with chiffon drapery to create that romantic effect Elie favours. All things I'd style more than once which, sadly, can't be said for an haute couture gown.

Unexpectedly for me was the seasonal heroes I rely on H&M for – autumn jackets, trend-led separates and accessories, for example – that come in this collection. So if you're not in the market for glitz and glamour, but don't want to miss out on the rare opportunity of owning something from a couture brand (you'd be a fool to), then don't worry.

There's a leather two-piece consisting of a funnel-neck bomber jacket and pencil skirt in an ombré chocolate hue which are easily the two items that'll sell out first. Elsewhere, the guipure lace-trim cami and satin shorts feel like a fun and girly approach to autumn/winter layers.

The ELIE SAAB X H&M collection comes at the perfect time, too. That being: party season. As I mentioned, ELIE SAAB is a leader in the haute couture genre with creations which have shaped numerous iconic red-carpet moments, so if you're looking to make a statement this festive season – be it a Christmas party, New Year's soiree or winter wedding – this is where you'll find the look.

“This collection is created for all who admire the world of ELIE SAAB, and I hope it will be embraced with the same enthusiasm it was created with,” says Elie Saab himself. “I am very happy with this collaboration and with the way we worked together with the H&M team to bring it all to life. As far as sizing and the price range goes? People will be pleasantly surprised. Everything ranges from a UK 4 to a UK 24 (or XS to XXL) with shoes being available in UK sizes 2 to 9. The most expensive pieces are, as you can probably guess, the sequin gown and leather jacket at £379.99, while accessories start as low as £27.99.

On the topic of bridalwear, a wedding dress and veil was showcased at the party in Paris last month. My spidey senses told me that might mean we'd be seeing one drop as part of this launch…and they've never failed me before.
