MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova said both Russia and Ukraine honor their commitments toward a humanitarian mission in Alyoshki in the Kherson Region.

"[I and Ukrainian ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets] discussed earlier coordinated details [toward a humanitarian mission in Alyoshki], everything is proceeding in accordance with the arrangements that have been agreed. Both sides are fulfilling their commitments," she wrote on Max channel.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov on September 21 described the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki as critical. Food and medicines cannot be delivered to the city amid Ukrainian shelling and drone attacks. More than 1,200 artillery and drone strikes had been delivered by Ukrainian troops on Alyoshki over the week, the district’s head Ruslan Khomenko said on October 19.

On Friday, the White House broke the news about a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in Alyoshki. The localized ceasefire will come into effect on October 29. The sides agreed to cease hostilities in Alyoshki to "allow for humanitarian aid to enter and to prepare a civilian evacuation through a designated safe passageway," the White House said. An independent US media organization will assist and document the actions of both Russia and Ukraine during the process.

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov, in turn, announced that Russian forces will enforce a localized ceasefire in the Kherson direction at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 a.m. GMT) on October 27 to allow for a humanitarian operation near Alyoshki.
