A better gaming setup doesn’t have to start with a new graphics card. These five Amazon deals cover the things used every session, from a compact mechanical keyboard to a $51.50 wireless Razer headset. All prices except the Logitech keyboard’s require Prime membership.
Razer BlackShark V2 Pro for PlayStation – $51.50 (47% off)

The PlayStation branding is easy to misread here: this BlackShark V2 Pro also works with a PC. I’d put it first for anyone retiring a basic wired headset, especially at just over $50. The catch is software. This edition doesn’t support Razer Synapse, so PC players who rely on that app should know what they’re giving up before buying.
| Key spec/feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Connection | 2.4GHz wireless via USB dongle; Bluetooth |
| Drivers | 50mm |
| Microphone | Detachable HyperClear Super Wideband mic |
| Battery life | Up to 70 hours |
| PC software limitation | No Razer Synapse support |

The G413 TKL SE covers the basics for less than $50. Its tactile switches give each press a noticeable bump, and removing the numpad frees up mouse space while leaving the arrow keys intact. White backlighting keeps things simple. For anyone weighing layouts and switch types, our keyboard buying guide explains the choices before committing to a mechanical board.
| Key spec/feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Layout | Tenkeyless, with dedicated arrow and function keys |
| Switches | Tactile mechanical |
| Connection | Wired USB |
| Keycaps | PBT |
| Backlighting | White LEDs |
| Key rollover | Six-key rollover with anti-ghosting |

Use the G309’s Lightspeed receiver for games and Bluetooth for a second device, and it can pull double duty across a gaming PC and work laptop. A replaceable AA battery saves another charging cable. At 86 grams with the battery, though, it isn’t an ultralight mouse. Our gaming mouse buying guide can help narrow down what suits.
| Key spec/feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Connection | Lightspeed wireless; Bluetooth |
| Sensor | HERO 25K |
| Main switches | Lightforce hybrid optical-mechanical |
| Battery life | Over 300 hours over Lightspeed, per Logitech |
| Weight | 86g with AA battery |
| Power | One AA battery; optional Powerplay system sold separately |

Some of us still need a numpad, even if it mostly earns its keep in spreadsheets. The Scope II 96 Wireless fits one into a compact layout that leaves more desk space than a conventional full-size board. This costs considerably more than the Logitech keyboard, but adds wireless connectivity and hot-swappable switches, so trying a different typing feel won’t require replacing the keyboard.
| Key spec/feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Layout | Compact 96%, including numpad |
| Switches | Pre-lubed ROG NX Snow Linear mechanical |
| Connection | 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, wired USB |
| Switch replacement | Hot-swappable |
| Keycaps | PBT |
| Controls and accessories | Multifunction control wheel; included wrist rest |

The cheaper Razer will be enough for plenty of players, but the Cloud III S Wireless earns its place with longer rated battery life and a useful microphone arrangement. Remove the boom mic and its built-in microphones can still handle phone calls over Bluetooth. That flexibility gives it a role away from the gaming desk, which helps justify spending more.
| Key spec/feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Connection | 2.4GHz wireless; Bluetooth |
| Battery life | Up to 120 hours over 2.4GHz; 200 hours over Bluetooth |
| Drivers | Angled 53mm |
| Microphones | Detachable 10mm boom mic; built-in internal microphones |
| Compatibility | PC, Mac, PS5, Switch, mobile |
| PC software | HyperX NGENUITY |

Nintendo Switch 2 jailbreak breakthrough shows what AI can do, but it’s not a one-click hack
The software-only exploit works on the latest firmware, but it's tethered and still has significant limitations.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has reportedly been jailbroken, and AI helped crack the code. Developer Sammy Hajhamid, aka pepsipu, used OpenAI's Codex to help exploit the console, even modding Mario Kart World with the likes of Peter Griffin and Hatsune Miku. But before anyone celebrates an unlocked Nintendo playground, there's a catch: the exploit is tethered, not a full-blown custom firmware jailbreak.

Xbox Cloud Gaming gets a standalone pay-as-you-go option
The service starts at $3.99 for 10 hours, and unused playtime won’t expire until you use it up.

Microsoft may already be putting pieces of its rumored Game Pass overhaul into place. A recent report claimed that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is planning a major rethink of the subscription service that could let players pay separately for features such as cloud gaming, multiplayer, and console-only games. Xbox has now started testing a pay-as-you-go version of Cloud Gaming that does not require a Game Pass subscription.

BioWare is closing, and the next Mass Effect is going with it
The closure ends more than three decades of RPG history and follows years of troubled releases.

Electronic Arts is shutting down BioWare after more than three decades, bringing the curtain down on the studio behind Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. EA also canceled the next Mass Effect in early development, and the closure is part of a wider restructuring that will reportedly eliminate around 400 jobs across EA.
Roughly 50 of those positions are reportedly at BioWare, and EA is also closing the studio’s Edmonton workspace. BioWare confirmed the news in its own farewell message, thanking the developers and players who helped build its games over the past 30 years.
