Full House star Jodie Sweetin is sharing a positive update on Dave Coulier’s health following his back-to-back battles with cancer.
“He’s doing great,” Sweetin told People at the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine fundraiser on Tuesday. Her update comes eight months after Coulier shared that both cancers were in remission.
Two Cancer Diagnoses in Just Over a YearCoulier first spoke publicly about his lymphoma diagnosis in November 2024. In December 2025, he revealed that doctors had found p16-positive squamous cell carcinoma at the base of his tongue. The second cancer, he said, was unrelated to the lymphoma.
During a February appearance on Good Morning America, Coulier explained that a PET scan at a lymphoma follow-up appointment picked up something in his throat. Doctors performed a biopsy, which confirmed the diagnosis. He credited those checkups with helping them catch it early.

“It’s been a roller coaster ride for sure,” he said. “I’m in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been.”
Remission Wasn’t the End of His RecoveryMonths later, Coulier addressed fans’ questions about his appearance and changes to his voice.
“What you’re seeing is the side effects of extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat,” he said in a May Instagram video. “I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months, so I’ve lost 45 lbs.” He added that treatment had affected his ability to speak and that his hair was growing back after chemotherapy for lymphoma.
He also shared some encouraging news: his latest PET scans looked good for both cancers. He said he was keeping busy with artwork and creative writing.
Still Showing Up for Each OtherTo celebrate his health and catch up in person, Sweetin and Andrea Barber, who played the eccentric next-door neighbor Kimmy Gibbler, recently spent a weekend at Coulier’s home in Michigan. While in town, the trio attended The Coney, a fundraiser supporting arts programs in Detroit, which Sweetin described as “so much fun.”
Seeing Coulier healthy after “such a tough battle” put everything into perspective for the actress. Rather than focusing on grand gestures, she said that the quiet parts of the trip were the most impactful.
“Sitting around and having coffee with him in the morning meant so much,” she told the outlet. Decades after their hit sitcom wrapped, Sweeten emphasized that the cast is still “obnoxiously annoyingly close.”
