prismatic-bell:limnaia:prismatic-bell:knitmeapony:https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/new-mexico-state-fair-ribbon-quilt-now-on-display-in-smithsonian/This incredibly gorgeous quilt is made out of all the ribbons that this woman has won at the state fair for all of her other crafts. It won a prize at the state fair.Carol St Clair Johnson, I salute you. Ngl, the prize she won for it almost seems unfair. Of course it won.Now what they should have done was to introduce a special one-year-only award, Best In BAMFery….I feel like they should have just handed her a crown and informed her that she has won the state fair forever, and let her rule over it as a judge and benevolent patron deity. RIGHT?!I do wonder at what point she decided to do this. Like was there ever a year where she went “good lord I have almost enough of these to make a quilt” and then was like “okay I need to win so many first places, so many second places, etc….” or did she just look at them all one day and decide to start playing?
