The pilot comes amid intensifying competition in the budget food delivery segment

Curefoods is positioning MegaBite as a service built for value-conscious, digitally savvy consumers, as food delivery platforms look to widen their reach
Cloud kitchen operator Curefoods has begun piloting MegaBite, a new food delivery service in Bengaluru, as it looks to tap the budget-conscious consumer segment with dishes priced between ₹49 and ₹199.
Currently operational in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout, MegaBite offers food from brands across Curefoods’ portfolio, including Rolls On Wheels, Olio Pizza, Krispy Kreme, Eatfit and Arambam. The platform is offering zero delivery charges and no platform fee as it seeks to position itself around affordability and value.
The pilot comes amid intensifying competition in the budget food delivery segment, with new and existing players experimenting with lower prices and alternative commission structures to attract consumers and restaurant partners.
Curefoods is positioning MegaBite as a service built for value-conscious, digitally savvy consumers, as food delivery platforms look to widen their reach beyond customers willing to pay a premium for convenience.
AffordableThe move also comes as competitors explore different models to make food ordering more affordable. Rapido-backed Ownly is seeking to differentiate itself through a zero-commission model for restaurants, while Flipkart has been exploring food delivery with lower commissions. Such offerings could put pressure on established food delivery platforms to reassess their pricing and restaurant-partner economics.
For Curefoods, MegaBite offers a way to leverage its existing portfolio of food brands to serve a wider price-conscious customer base. However, the pilot’s performance and the company’s plans for expansion beyond HSR Layout remain unclear.
Curefoods, which operates a portfolio of cloud kitchen and food brands, has raised around $150 million in funding, with investors including Accel and Three State Ventures.
The company had also secured regulatory approval for an initial public offering (IPO) comprising a fresh issue of around ₹800 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 4.85 crore equity shares. However, Curefoods has since put its IPO plans on hold.
The MegaBite pilot marks a fresh consumer-facing initiative for the company as it explores opportunities in a segment where affordability, delivery costs and restaurant commissions are becoming increasingly important to competition.
