The Andhra Pradesh Counter Intelligence Cell (CIC), in association with Central intelligence agencies, has arrested K. Srinivas, who has been named Accused No. 3 in a naval espionage case. Srinivas, a native of Visakhapatnam, had been absconding for a year.

The Malkapuram police in Visakhapatnam registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, against Ravi (A-1), an unidentified woman (A-2) and Srinivas in October 2025 on charges of spying.

Investigating officers had arrested B. Ravi, a native of Sriharipuram, Visakhapatnam, earlier in the case.

The investigation revealed that Ravi and Srinivas were working with TD Engineering Company at the Naval Dockyard.

In 2023, the woman, who introduced herself as Angel Payal, an employee of a Dubai-based shipping company, contacted Ravi through Facebook and asked him to share details regarding ships and submarines.

Ravi and Srinivas allegedly shared information such as the number of submarines and ships in the dockyard, a highly restricted and sensitive defence area. The woman reportedly transferred some money to the bank accounts of the two accused, the CIC officials said in a release on Wednesday (October 14, 2026).

CIC officials, who worked with Central intelligence agencies to have Srinivas deported from Saudi Arabia, intercepted him at Delhi airport on October 11 and brought him to the Malkapuram police station.

He was produced in court the next day and sent to the Visakhapatnam Central Jail, the police said.
