“Our democracy rests on the rule of law. When someone . . . is suspected of a criminal act, our justice system investigates.” — Omar, after Trump was indicted in 2023

We say: Omar clearly wants an exception to “the rule of law” when she’s the suspect.

Agents raided her home based on a judge’s warrant as part of a probe into her immigration process.

She had it right the first time: Democracy depends on the rule of law, no matter who is being investigated. 

“No.” — Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, Sunday, asked if he or his family have any Muslim Brotherhood ties

We say: Why did El-Sayed’s half-sister boast that “my family has long been MB” and that in the ’70s her mother was active in the Muslim Brotherhood, chapters of which are US “specially designated global terrorist” groups?

And why, when asked about that, has El-Sayed refused to answer?

“[Jews] took land off people [in Israel], and they were excessive.” — Former President Barack Obama, Sunday

We say: Obama claimed Jews “ceded moral ground” by taking “whatever” they want and “not making any concessions.”

In fact, Israel has offered deep, painful concessions over the years. (Ask Bill Clinton.)

As for the land, 70% was state property under the Ottomans and British; nearly all the rest was bought legally, or acquired after owners fled as Arabs launched a war on Israel in 1948.

Oh, and the United Nations itself reaffirmed Israel’s right to its land.

We say: Sorry, Hillary, no one is targeting black or Hispanic US citizens. And the people who are targeted represent nearly every race and nationality.

The key factor is citizenship — not what people “look like.”
