Between messy relationships, superstar egos, cheating scandals and Tasha Mack delivering some of the most unforgettable one-liners on television, the hit series kept fans glued to their screens.
But after all those seasons of football, fame and relationship chaos, what happened to the cast once the cameras stopped rolling? Some became Netflix stars, others scored major television roles, and a few returned to give fans another taste of the drama. So, where is the cast of The Game today? Let’s catch up with the stars.
Tia Mowry (Melanie Barnett): From Football Wife to Boss Moves.Created by Mara Brock Akil, The Game first premiered in 2006 as a spin-off of Girlfriends. The series followed Melanie as she put her medical-school ambitions on hold to support Derwin’s professional football career, only to discover that life alongside the sports world came with plenty of unexpected twists.
After its original run on The CW ended, the show returned on BET in 2011, remaining centered around the fictional San Diego Sabers football team. Years later, the franchise scored another comeback with its Paramount+ revival, bringing the football drama to Las Vegas.
Melanie Barnett was the smart, ambitious medical student who followed her heart into the unpredictable world of professional football. But after leaving The Game following Season 5, Tia Mowry was far from sitting on the sidelines. She went on to star in Netflix’s Family Reunion, launched her own haircare line called 4U, and continued building her career through new television projects. Melanie may have stepped away from the Sabers, but Tia kept winning in real life.

Derwin Davis gave fans plenty to talk about, from his complicated relationship with Melanie to the ups and downs of his football career. After leaving the series, Pooch Hall traded the fictional football field for some seriously intense television drama. He landed a role in Showtime’s crime drama Ray Donovan and later appeared on TV One’s Uncensored, giving viewers a closer look at his life and career.
Hall said he got “teary-eyed” when he received the call from the show’s director, Mara Brock Akil, that he would be THE Derwin Davis.
“That changed my life,” the actor shared during his 2024 appearance on Uncensored.
Derwin may have had his share of fumbles, but Pooch continued moving forward after his time with the cast of The Game.
Let’s be honest: The Game would not have been the same without Tasha Mack! The outspoken sports agent could shut down an argument, put somebody in their place and deliver a savage one-liner before anyone else had time to react. Wendy Raquel Robinson brought that same boss energy back to the Paramount+ reboot, which aired for two seasons from December 2022 to February 2024.
Speaking on the importance of Tasha Mack, during an interview on TV One’s Uncensored on May 6, Robinson, 59, said she felt so many women resonated with her character because she was “resilient.”
“Every time she gets knocked down, she gets right back up again,” the star said. “When I play her, Tasha Mack says the things I wish Wendy could say,” Robinson chuckled. “She says it unapologetically.”
Away from the screen, she has continued leading the Amazing Grace Conservatory, helping nurture the next generation of performers. She’s also appeared on The Chi and was a leading cast member on the show Real Issues.
Tasha might have been all about managing athletes, but Wendy has been busy investing in future stars.
Malik Wright was the definition of a talented athlete who could turn even the simplest situation into a full-blown spectacle. Between his larger-than-life personality, career pressures and complicated relationship with his mother, Tasha, Malik always had something going on.
Hosea Chanchez returned for the Paramount+ revival, giving longtime fans another chance to catch up with the character. He also appeared in television series including Black Lightning and Major Crimes, proving his acting career extended well beyond the football field. However, the Hollywood star experienced a brief lull in his career when acting opportunities weren’t coming his way as often as he’d hoped.
During an Oct. 6 interview with The Baller Alert Show, Chanchez said he learned so much about himself during his brief stint away from Hollywood.
“That’s actually the best thing that ever happened to me was not working for some years because I cultivated a new skill set for myself and I learned to see my life in a much broad [and] bigger view because like I was just telling you guys I knew I was going to be an actor since I was five years old, four or five,” he shared.

And so from that age of me watching Eddie Murphy on SNL, which were reruns at that time, I only had one objective. I had only one dream in my life. I’ve never dreamed about anything else in my entire life until recently…because of that, when I stopped working as consistently as I had been working in the past, my identity was trapped in how much work I was getting. Because as an actor, oftentimes your next job, you’re only as good as your last job.”
Chanchez explained that repeated rejection from roles led him to pour his life into his work, which ultimately became unhealthy. Through this experience, he learned that his worth should not be tied to his success in the industry.
“I thought that if I wasn’t working as an actor then I can’t really call myself an actor,” he explained. “The industry and booking a job should never be what a man’s worth is tied to.”
Jason Pitts was the comical football captain trying to balance football, marriage and the never-ending chaos surrounding the Sabers. Coby Bell made special appearances in the revival while continuing to build an impressive television résumé. His credits include Walker and Marvel’s The Gifted, keeping him firmly in the entertainment game long after his days as Jason Pitts with the cast of The Game.
Kelly Pitts brought her own brand of drama, glamour and complicated relationship moments to the series. As Jason’s wife, she was often caught in the middle of the team’s personal and professional messes.
Brittany Daniel later made special appearances in the revival while focusing more on family life and lifestyle-related content. Although fans may have wanted more Kelly Pitts drama, Brittany has embraced a different chapter away from the weekly television spotlight.
Brandy Norwood joined The Game in Season 5 as Chardonnay Pitts, initially a recurring character before becoming a series regular in Seasons 6 through 9. Chardonnay was introduced as a feisty bartender who drunkenly married football player Jason Pitts (Coby Bell) in Tijuana. Despite their rocky beginnings, the two developed a genuine relationship before eventually divorcing.
Beyond acting, Brandy continues to celebrate her musical legacy. In 2025, she reunited with Monica for The Boy Is Mine Tour, bringing their iconic R&B rivalry-turned-friendship to the stage. In March 2026, she also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking another milestone in her decades-long career.
From San Diego to Las Vegas: The cast of The Game Never Really Stayed on the Bench. The show may have wrapped up, but its cast members have continued pursuing new projects, growing their businesses and exploring life beyond their iconic characters.
And if there’s one thing The Game taught us, it’s that the real drama doesn’t end when the final whistle blows. Whether you were Team Melanie and Derwin, living for Tasha Mack’s savage comebacks or watching Jason and Kelly’s relationship unfold, the cast gave fans plenty of moments that are still worth revisiting today.
