The hosts of Pod Save America all appeared to welcome the idea of Donald Trump meeting his end to start their show on Tuesday.
As they did, the 80-year-old commander-in-chief was speaking behind bulletproof glass in Washington, DC, to honor those lost in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.
Host Jon Favreau kicked things off during the show's viewer mail segment.
'"Is there anyone who can stop this orange piece of sh*t?"' he read with a smile. 'Three exclamation points. Vanessa from Facebook.'
Cohost Tommy Vietor quipped: 'Iran’s doing a pretty good job.'
Favreau stifled a laugh as Jon Lovett smiled and agreed.
'I think the answer’s "no,"' Favreau interrupted, with a knowing glance to the camera.
But Vietor continued to riff, and the bit subsequently became more morbid. 'I think, uh, heart disease, always got a shot,' he joked – leading Favreau to let out a laugh off-screen.
Pod Save America hosts Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor all laughed and joked about Donald Trump potentially dying in the near future on Tuesday
As they did, the 80-year-old commander-in-chief spoke behind bulletproof glass in Washington, DC, at an event ahead of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks. He has survived at least three attempts on his life since 2024
'Father Time will get there eventually,' Vietor continued, in a deadpan tone.
Lovett, eager to get involved, again agreed with a smile. 'The hardness of the veins sort of gets us all in the end,' he affirmed.
Favreau, as the improv routine progressed, appeared ready to move on.
'Anyway, you know- it's 2026, almost 2027. So pretty soon we won't be asking that question,' he said.
Cohost Dan Pfeiffer asked with a smirk: 'Then what happens? We get real jobs?'
'Yeah, probably,' a noticeably more lukewarm Favreau answered, before moving on.
No mentions were made of the multiple attempts on the President's life over the past two years, as well as recent Israeli intelligence suggesting there was an active Iranian plot to carry out an assassination as recently as July.
Favreau, moreover, shamed the President in March for expressing delight at former FBI Director Robert Mueller's death in a post to Truth Social at the time.
Jon Favreau kicked things off with what he admitted was a carefully curated question from Facebook: '"Is there anyone who can stop this orange piece of sh*t?"' he said with a smile
'I think, uh, heart disease, always got a shot,' Tommy Vietor said, leading to laughs and more riffs from his cohosts. 'Father Time will get there eventually'
'Robert Mueller just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!' Trump wrote at the time. Mueller investigated ties between Russia and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign for two years starting in 2017.
'One day, Donald Trump will die, and his supporters will try to punish the people who say things like this,' Favreau wrote on X back then.
He and his cohosts are all former Barack Obama aides and some of the most successful podcasters in the world, amassing multimillion fortunes in less than a decade.
The show launched in early 2017 and is one of the most popular podcasts in the world, with more than 1 billion downloads.
