Hear us out.
I know these Reformation Olina Pants aren’t gonna be everyone’s ‘cup of tea’ and that’s totally okay. I’ll be honest, if you are not a fan of bold colors, this post might not be for you. But, I can promise you that if you give these pants a chance, you will be surprised at just how versatile and easy they are to wear. I should know.
The good news is that if you like the fabric of these pants but aren’t ready for chartreuse, they come in lots of different color options (much milder hues than the bright green) that are still just as cool and show-stopping, like navy, cocoa, maroon and mercury. And they are sustainably made too!
How To Style Reformation’s Olina Pants: 6 OutfitsI originally bought these pants with the upcoming holiday season in mind, but once I finally got them, I decided…why wait to wear them? Why not get the most bang for my buck out of my ‘super special‘ pants?? And once I started trying them on with different tops in my closet, I quickly realized, much to my surprise, just how well they went with so many of them.

Usually, I am a 27 in jeans, and that means I range from a size small to medium in pants. In this case, I sized up to a medium and am really glad I did for the little extra roominess. They are made from recycled deadstock fabric that is a medium weight, slightly thicker than satin, but with no stretch. They feature a side zip and a front-waist tie, and this chartreuse color is stunning, IRL. It basically shimmers! I wasn’t sure this cashmere cotton striped rugby sweater from Quince would work, but it does because it kind of distracts from the pants and makes them feel a little less bold.
Sweater (M) | Pants (M) | Samba Janes (7.5) | Bag
One thing I learned about styling these pants is that not only do they actually go with so many more colors than I expected, but I also really like how they look with differing textures too. There is something that just works about this navy cable-knit sweater and these pants. The deep blue helps calm down the boldness of these pants and the chunky cable-knit gives the shiny pants something to anchor to.
Cardigan (M) | Pants (M) | Sweater (M) | Mary Janes (7.5) | Handbag
If you’re looking for the easiest way to wear chartreuse, grab something chocolate brown and go! I first fell in love with this color combo when I was putting together this Chocolate Brown Color Combinations: 5 Bold Pairings for Fall post and my mind immediately visualized this outfit in my head: a chunky knit, chocolate brown sweater and the Olina Pants in chartreuse.
Jacket (M) | Tee (M) | Pants (M) | Leopard Mary Janes (7.5) | Samba Janes (7.5) | Handbag
Case in point: more chocolate brown! Quince has the chocolate brown knitwear market pretty well cornered right now. They have so many great options to choose from at great price points and I am just happy to have another excuse to wear this suede jacket from Free People.
Left Long Sleeve Top (M) | Pants (M) | Right Striped Sweater (S) | Ballet Flats (7.5) | Handbag
I’ve learned that stripes are some of the easiest ways to wear a color that’s this loud.
Cardigan (M) | Pants (M) | Sweater (M) | Samba Janes (7.5)
Okay, this outfit color combo is for the more maximalist-leaning peeps. If you aren’t afraid of bold colors, this combo is for you. I haven’t been brave enough to wear this outfit out of the house yet, but when I saw these two colors together, I was so pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. And, for what it’s worth, you can’t beat Quince if you are looking for affordable, great quality, 100% organic cotton knitwear. I am continuously impressed with everything I order from them.
Tee (S) | Pants (M) | Samba Janes (7.5) | Handbag
This outfit is solid proof that these pants can be dressed down with a tee. If chartreuse pants feel too dressy for everyday life, simply add a tee and a pair of ballet sneakers with them, and voilà, the pants feel like the pajama bottoms that they secretly are.
Denim Jacket (M) | Tee (S) | Pants (M) | Samba Janes (7.5) | Handbag
If these bold pants feel like too much for a Tuesday afternoon, one easy way to make them more casual is to throw on a denim jacket. These pants really can go with just about everything (as long as you are open-minded).
