Atlanta, the city of peaches, hip-hop, and Coca-Cola. What does that have to do with creatives? It’s the home of Design Recess, a one-day design conference where creative professionals learn, connect, and get inspired. The event brings together design leaders and creative practitioners to hear from industry-leading speakers, participate in hands-on interactive sessions, and network with the Atlanta-area creative community.

Design Recess will feature a curated mainstage agenda of award-winning design leaders and panels sharing real-world case studies, creative workflows, and industry insights from their professional creative careers. Some presentations will include a brief Q&A, allowing attendees an opportunity to engage with the speakers directly.

In addition to the mainstage agenda, attendees can choose from several interactive “Play” sessions, where attendees and presenters connect through various design-themed formats.

Design Recess is mainly an opportunity to assemble our Atlanta-area creative community in one place, so there will be plenty of intentional open time in the agenda for attendees to meet, network, and reconnect over food and hands-on activities.

Our mainstage agenda concludes in the late afternoon, but the fun doesn’t have to end just yet — it’s After Party time for any attendees who want to grab a bite or drinks and keep the connection time going.

Design Recess is a conference FOR designers BY designers. It’s a break from the daily grind of agency, in-house, freelance, or student design work ­— one day for creatives to step away from their desks, learn from peers and industry leaders, and get the Atlanta design community band back together.

Upon arrival, attendees will check in and receive a Design Recess swag bag. Attendees will receive light refreshments and lunch.
