Pop-up shelters and canopies for shipping containers are commonly used for warehousing, workshops and on industrial sites. However, they have many more uses beyond the more obvious manufacturing purposes and commercial storage.

Here are our top three options for freestanding pop-up shelters and shipping container canopies beyond the industrial.

Shipping container gym conversions for either commercial or personal use bring a tough, non-nonsense utilitarian style to a workout space. They are, however, sometimes limited on space and lacking ventilation.

Functional fitness workouts that require sweaty cardio on air bikes and Ski Erg machines might be best completed in a less confined space. That is where a container canopy or free-standing shelter can make a difference.

Waterproof and sturdy enough to withstand the weather all year round, they are an obvious solution for extending your gym without needing to invest heavily.

Spacious, with enough headroom to install lifting racks and pull-up frames, it can give you and your clients more freedom to move.

The Covid-19 pandemic in the UK changed how we socialise outside the home, and nowhere was that more evident than in the hospitality industry. In particular, beer gardens, once confined to country pubs, were suddenly everywhere in response to social distancing rules.

In the years since, beer gardens have continued to be a feature of pubs and bars, with the presence of a pleasant outdoor space increasing average pub ratings to 4.25 out of five. We just love alfresco drinking in the UK.

However, the British weather often has other ideas, and sheltering from the rain, wind and other adverse conditions is sometimes necessary. The good news is that pop-up shelters can provide a solution.

With sizes to suit the location and space, a pop-up shelter can give patrons a clean, dry space to enjoy their beer in an indoor/outdoor setting. For venues built from containers, a container canopy can do the job while maintaining the industrial aesthetic of the bar.

Equestrian activities require a substantial amount of equipment both for riding and for looking after the horses. Finding enough space to store all the gear and horse feed can be challenging if stable and outhouse space is limited.

Additional space for tack, saddle racks and storage containers for feed needs to be weather-proof. Specialist equestrian storage for boots, helmets and other equipment is often needed, too.

Moisture, fluctuations in humidity and excess sunlight can damage the leather of saddles and riding boots. Pests and rodents can also cause issues, especially when storing horse feed and medicines, so the shelter needs to be easy to keep clean and tidy.

Pop-up shelters or canopies that provide long-term or temporary shelter can be an excellent solution. Easy to install and remove, they provide a dry, weather-resistant space covered by hardwearing PVC.

The option of walls and doors can provide additional security and protection from dust and pests, while the height of the shelters means that, if needed, they can be used as temporary shelters for the horses when mucking out, grooming or tacking up.
