French police have arrested two brothers, aged 21 and 25, suspected of running an internet platform called NudeLeaksTeens, which showed stolen naked images of more than 17,000 women and girls. Paris Public Prosecutor Laure Beccuau announced the arrests on Wednesday, a day after the two men were detained in northern France on Tuesday.

Beccuau said French police conducted the investigation with U.S. police and judicial authorities. The two brothers are described as suspects. Investigators also seized €700,000 ($782,530) in cryptoassets, such as bitcoins, Ethereum, Litecoin, and USDT.

Three websites associated with the "NudeLeaksTeens" service were shut down today, according to reports:

• nltvids.com, 
• nudeleaksteens.com.

The prosecutor said the platform was selling “packs” of stolen intimate content. The material came from various origins, including the hacking of social media accounts, “grooming,” and “revenge porn.” The victims numbered more than 17,000 females of all nationalities, minors among them.

According to Beccuau, cited by Reuters, site users were encouraged, in exchange for cryptocurrency, to provide identifying information about each victim. The prosecutor’s account therefore covers both the sale of the images and the effort to name the people shown in them.

Beccuau called on victims of the NudeLeaksTeens platform to contact the National Cyber ​​Unit at [email protected]. Because the victims come from many countries, the call applies to females of any nationality, and the prosecutor’s appeal is the one concrete step her announcement gives people who believe they were affected.

Late last month, a Virginia man was sentenced to 40 years for exploiting 41 minor girls through a hacked Snapchat account. In July, an Illinois man was sentenced to over 6 years for hacking women's Snapchat accounts via phishing to steal their pictures.
