Continually inspired by travel, founder HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, turned to India for Sirivannavari’s latest collection. The spring 2027 theme, “Soul of an Empire,” reflects on the past and present, drawing on memories from Jaipur.

The Pink City is known for its arched passageways, carved stones, intricate inlays, serene gardens and faded hues across its historical facades; this evokes a world of design, nature and craftsmanship working in harmony.

At its core, the collection focused on the appreciation of beauty created with patience and knowledge passed down through generations and how art has become a vessel for culture. “Soul of an Empire” puts heritage first, with a contemporary voice through the clothing’s silhouettes, textiles and details.

The majestic freedom India saw throughout the 1970s was also a major focal point — artists, musicians and travelers who journeyed through India were all enamored by the country’s color, spirituality and sensuality. This informed the wardrobe that encompasses a rock ’n’ roll attitude with glamour, allure and ease.

Within the collection itself, the brand’s signature Iris Jacket was revisited with new proportions via reshaping the shoulder, waist and hip for a more feminine look. With sharp tailoring in juxtaposition to draped tops, wrapped dresses and skirts, translucent layers and scarves move freely.

India’s changing light informs the palette — with white and cream softened by the sun, dusty pink, light pastels and earthy spice tones sit alongside bright colors. Alongside the softer shades, metallic and shimmering details add a glamorous contrast; embroidery, mirror work, embellishments and accessories India is known for bring another dimension to the garments.

One of the standout silhouettes from the collection is the dhoti trouser with its large volume through the construction of the Thai chong kraben. Created in contrasting materials, including artisanal Mudmee Thai silk, India and Thailand merge within one design.

The Sirivannavari man also embodies the “effortless cool” and “free-spirited attitude” of the 1970s — with a wardrobe of sharp tailoring, fluid layers and details. Tunics, relaxed trousers and scarves all bring a laid-back charm to the wardrobe’s structured pieces.

Orange Ginger, Green Cardamom and Blue Turmeric all harken back to the richness of India’s spices and pigments. Alongside these colorways, sheer fabrics, embroidery and architectural motifs bring texture into play as an expression of individuality.

Placing craftsmanship front and center, digital prints were developed using the creative director’s own woodcut artworks. This process helped preserve the irregular lines, layered color and tactile quality of the originals and used this character within the fabrics.

Hand embroidery was created by Sirivannavari Atelier and Academy to draw on the language of Indian architecture. Beading and mirror embroidery, crochet buttons, tasseled finishes and flowers were crafted three-dimensionally to reinterpret the details using texture.

Embroidered passages from Princess Sirivannavari’s poetry used personal memories of journeys and travel to the garments. From Mudmee Thai silk to handwoven indigo cotton sourced from Don Koi, textiles were reworked using modern techniques such as laser cutting — which also showcased the influence of India through the brand’s Thai identity.

“For this collection, I experimented with woodcut, film photography and Polaroids, transferring and reprinting the images to discover something unexpected — and give the work a human quality,” said Princess Sirivannavari. “On the runway, these experiments come together through print, embroidery, texture, tailoring and movement. Fashion, art and photography are not separate disciplines; they are different ways of expressing the same idea.”

For accessories, the collection continues to explore craft, glamour and modernity. La Luna bag is created in satin, linen and calfskin alongside beaded-by-hand versions. The new Ira compact shoulder bag with its East-West profile is offered in classic and soft pastel shades. The Rani drawstring bag captures the house’s savoir-faire with its miniature size, intricate beadwork and 3D floral embroidery by Sirivannavari Atelier and Academy.

India’s notable opulence within ornaments comes to life in the jewelry. Palace wall paintings, floral motifs and intricate carvings are used in modern forms for silver and champagne gold anchor statement earrings, layered necklaces, cuffs, rings, brooches and belts.

Men’s accessories encompass bags in tactile raffia, calfskin and denim for a relaxed summer mood with its clean contemporary shapes and artisanal details. And rounding out the collection is footwear, with the brand’s signature pyramid heels alongside strappy woven shapes for women. Men’s suede loafers and relaxed sandals offer a transition from formal to casual summer dressing.

“For spring 2027, that journey becomes ‘Soul of an Empire.’ Every piece carries an impression of a great culture — its richness, depth and beauty. That intangible spirit is what I wanted to capture and transform into clothing,” said Princess Sirivannavari.
