TURKMENBASHI /Turkmenistan/, October 8. /TASS/. Iran’s participation in the CIS Plus format of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is important and welcomed by all member countries, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"This certainly is very important. Iran is drawn to such integration organizations, and this is welcomed by the member states," Peskov told reporters when asked how important Iran’s participation in the CIS Plus format was.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday, during his visit to Turkmenistan.
