Code fences in list items

Дата публикации: 18-09-2026 23:55:15

Thank you for the explanation.
Editors are an immense asset, but much of the content authored in Markdown consists of short segments, composed directly within the application through which the content ultimately is to be displayed or to be distributed.
Meanwhile, I have not found in the specification any support for the form you describe, by which a list item may include a block defined separate from the list.
I will need to reflect on the syntax based on +. It feels clumsy, but because it may be used in conjunction with any block type, it is clearly quite powerful.
Regardless, I do still wonder whether it would be an improvement if the sequence closing the fences was accepted with any amount of leading space, with such space serving to express the space that should be stripped from the lead of each line within the fences. As such, if the closing sequence is flush, then the content would be interpreted also as flush.
