Nigerian Afrobeats star Tekno thrilled music lovers in London with a high-energy performance at Village Underground as part of Nigeria’s 66th Independence celebrations.

The concert, held on Sunday, October 4, brought together fans of the singer, who performed songs from across his catalogue, including some of his biggest hits and recent releases.

Sponsored by emPawa Africa and hosted by Mr A Star, the show featured Tekno performing with a full band as he moved through fan favourites such as “Pana” and “Duro”.

The performance came shortly after the release of his eight-track album, Where Did Love Go?, in July, as well as his latest single, “Atlanta”.

Tekno also performed some of his newer material, giving fans a glimpse into the latest phase of his musical career.

The singer was met with an enthusiastic reception from the London audience, with fans singing along to familiar songs as he moved between his established hits and recent releases.

The concert also highlighted the continued international reach of Tekno’s music, particularly in London, one of the major global centres for Afrobeats and a key market for African music and culture.

The event formed part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary, combining music, culture and community while celebrating the country’s growing influence on the global entertainment scene.

For emPawa Africa, the concert reflected its continued involvement in African entertainment and cultural experiences designed to connect audiences beyond traditional sports and gaming activities.

Tekno closed the show to an enthusiastic crowd, rounding off the Independence weekend celebration with a performance that brought together songs from the catalogue that established his reputation and material from his latest project.
