After much clamouring and high demand, the Dunedin Blue Jays are putting their “Rain Delay” merchandise up for any fan to purchase.
Toronto’s single-A affiliate went viral earlier this summer when it revealed a new alternate uniform which poked fun at the amount of weather-related issues the club is forced to deal with on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
The uniforms feature a weather map of Dunedin with a heavy storm rolling through the area — something that the team knows all too much about.
“In 2025, the Dunedin Blue Jays endured 24 weather delays, 6 cancellations, and 10 postponements,” the team posted on its social media feeds. “If you can’t beat the weather, wear it.
“Introducing the ‘Rain Delay Jerseys,’ honouring the chaos of the Florida State League, debuting on July 18.”

On Wednesday morning, the team shared the news that many fans had been waiting for: The Rain Delay apparel was going live for consumption by the general public.
“Shop Dunedin Blue Jays rain delay themed apparel online now!” the club posted on X with a link to the team’s online store.
However, upon inspection, the team’s “Rain Delay Sublimated Short Sleeve Performance Top” was listed as “sold out” in all sizes less than 10 minutes after the post on social media.
The team did not respond when asked whether the shirt was sold out before the post went live.
RECOMMENDED VIDEOWhen the jerseys were announced in June, they were an instant hit on social media with fans hoping to buy their own versions. However, the team resisted putting replicas on sale, instead opting to auction off the unique outfits for local charities.
The club ended up raising more than $8,600 US from the jerseys, which were worn during their July 18 game.
Proceeds from the auction, which also included other merchandise, helped support nonprofit organization Keep Pinellas Beautiful and Denis Phillips’ Rule #7 Shop — a charitable initiative started by Tampa Bay 28’s chief meteorologist.
