Iran forced tanker north of Oman’s Khasab to turn back: UKMTO

TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (MNA) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) has said a tanker 11 nautical miles north of Khasab, Oman, was hailed by Iran's IRGC forces and warned it would be targeted unless it turned back and the tanker complied.

TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (MNA) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) has said a tanker 11 nautical miles north of Khasab, Oman, was hailed by Iran's IRGC forces and warned it would be targeted unless it turned back and the tanker complied.
A tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz inbound was hailed by the IRGC and instructed to turn back or the vessel would be targeted. The Master of the tanker has confirmed that they have compiled with the instruction.
Authorities are investigating.
Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
