More low-income seniors in Vermont are now eligible for help paying for Medicare

For Carole Patten of Lake Elmore, Vermont’s expanded Medicare Savings Program now lets her keep an extra $200 a month out of her Social Security check that was previously going to her insurance premiums. That’s effectively a tenth of her income, she said.
