Nichole Drummond, 47, died from thermal injuries and a gunshot wound to her right leg, online records showed. Her death was ruled a homicide.
A mother who was burned and shot by her boyfriend after her daughter was killed inside their home last month has died from burn injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department and Clark County coroner have confirmed.
Nichole Drummond, 47, died Sunday from burns and a gunshot wound to her right leg, online records showed. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Authorities previously said Drummond was taken to the hospital after her boyfriend, Jason Simmons, chased her with a blowtorch and fired shots inside their southwest valley home on Aug. 10. Drummond’s 14-year-old daughter, Aven, was also inside the home.
After police arrived, they found the girl dead in a bedroom near the front of the house. Officers also found Simmons — who fired at them through a door and struck one — dead inside another room. He died by suicide, according to the coroner.
Nevaeh Thomas, Aven’s sister and Nichole Drummond’s daughter, said her mother oversaw the human resources department at Christian Morris Trial Attorneys. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that, in 2024, Drummond was a chef and general manager at International Taco Co., a now-closed restaurant near Las Vegas Premium Outlets South.
Thomas described her mother as devoted and supportive. She said Nichole Drummond helped keep score at Aven’s volleyball games every weekend.
