Authorities have identified three people who died when a man fatally shot his parents and then himself at an apartment near UNLV.

Ibrahim Jihar, 69, and Jimea Mahmoud, 64, both died of multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled homicides, the Clark County coroner’s office said Tuesday. Abdelhafiz Abdelgader, 40, died of multiple self-inflicted gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a suicide.

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price said dispatchers received a 911 call shortly after 10 a.m. on Sept. 16 from a man who said he had just shot his parents in the 1600 block of East Rochelle Avenue, near East Flamingo Road and South Maryland Parkway. Price said that while the call was going on, “dispatch heard one more shot, and the line goes silent.”

Officers went to the residence and found three people with gunshot wounds. Two died at the scene and a third died after being transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

Police previously said they did not know what motivated the shooting, and there was no indication police had been called to the residence in the past for domestic complaints.
