Arsenal have suffered yet another injury blow during the international break, with Christos Tzolis forced off with an apparent leg injury while playing for Greece.

The winger left the field in the 18th minute of his side's clash with the Netherlands with his shirt covering his face, and Gunners fans now face a nervous wait to discover the severity of the issue.

It comes a matter of days after first-choice Arsenal striker Kai Havertz was also injured against the Dutch.

Havertz was tasked with leading the line in Jurgen Klopp's first match as Germany's new head coach, and lasted just 30 minutes of the fixture with the forward having gone down appearing to signal an issue with his hamstring.

Havertz's issue emerged just minutes after he had fallen victim to a poor challenge from Quinten Timber, the brother of Havertz's Arsenal team-mate Jurrien.

Timber had arrived late for a challenge and caught Havertz high on his knee, with the German attacker immediately falling to the pitch.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could now be without two of his first-choice front three for the return of Premier League action next weekend, when the champions will take on Brighton.

Bukayo Saka, the first-choice right winger, is in the England squad and could feature in the Three Lions' games against Croatia and the Czech Republic.

Declan Rice had already withdrawn from England duty with an injury, while Arteta is also currently without Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White and William Saliba.

Captain Martin Odegaard left Norway's defeat by Portugal on Sunday with a foot issue, sparking more concern, but returned to the side for their game against Wales.

Tzolis has started all five of Arsenal's Premier League games so far, making eight appearances in all competitions – picking up four assists.
