Congratulations on your artistic literacy, that is exactly the feeling the photographer intended to share!!Cunningham, whose 90-year-old in this photo (and who herself is a famous photographer), is glancing over at Thiebaud (An artist’s who was famous for her poses in nature during the 70s) the nude model who is posing as a forest nymph. The photo was taken by Judy Dater a feminist photographer who wanted to capture the classic artistic depiction of a greek goddess or spirit but shape it as two women meeting and aknowledging each other’s power, instead of the common voyeuristic perspective often given to those pieces.
