The International Conference on Statistical Modelling with Applications (ΣtatMod2026) was successfully held at UCLan Cyprus on 18-19 September 2026, bringing together academics, researchers, students and industry professionals from Cyprus and abroad.
The two-day conference featured approximately 60 plenary and contributed presentations covering a broad range of theoretical, methodological and applied areas of statistics, demonstrating the increasingly important role of statistical modelling across different disciplines.
In addition to the scientific programme, the conference provided participants with valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, discuss current research and establish new academic and professional collaborations. The strong international participation contributed to a stimulating environment in which researchers and practitioners were able to share knowledge and explore new approaches to contemporary statistical challenges.
The Local Organising Committee expressed its appreciation to all the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions and for creating such an engaging and productive atmosphere throughout the conference. The Committee was delighted with the positive response to the event and the opportunity to welcome researchers, practitioners and students from all over the world to UCLan Cyprus.
The successful organisation of the conference was made possible through the work of the Steering Committee and the Local Organising Committee, with the valuable assistance of student volunteers and the administrative and technical staff of UCLan Cyprus.
The organisers also expressed their sincere appreciation to the conference sponsors. UCLan Cyprus supported the event as Gold Sponsor and hosted the conference on its campus. ClinBay, Needlestack Tech and Grant Thornton Cyprus supported the event as Silver Sponsors. Their generous contributions enabled the organisers to offer participation without a registration fee and helped make the conference accessible to a diverse international audience.
ΣtatMod2026 strengthened the connections between the statistical research community in Cyprus and researchers and practitioners internationally. Its success highlighted the value of creating opportunities for collaboration and for promoting the application of statistical methods to important scientific, economic and societal challenges.
