I lasted less than a minute on watching the 'grain transport' YouTube.
'Forget the stories'? Really? Why the heck am I supposed to be watching a video relating to fantasy worlds if I am supposed to 'forget the stories'?
'Sea trade' video seemed to be trying to sell me some kind of good or service called 'campfire' inside the opening minute. I'll stick to a large wooden board I can push pieces of paper and counters and other markers around, thank you. I can use it to try and get a narrative timeline to slot together as I want and so I can see what events influence which later ones - or to timetable Hogwarts for a Harry Potter fanfiction.
Okay, I don't know how useful these videos might be to someone just starting up, trying to create their first ever 'home brew' setting to run a Dungeons & Dragons game. 'Dungeon' and 'Dragon' magazines, back in the days of print, used to run articles on things like that - Ray Winninger is one name I remember from back in the day - but I don't know if anyone's doing anything like that now.
