JPMorgan executive director Lorna Hajdini renewed her defamation countersuit against former colleague Chirayu Rana in Manhattan federal court Monday night. She says his sexual assault allegations are false and that his accusations damaged her reputation, caused severe anxiety and panic, and drove her to withdraw from personal relationships.

Hajdini alleges Rana tried to portray her as a racist sexual predator to obtain millions of dollars from her and JPMorgan. She’s seeking unspecified damages for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and other claims. She initially countersued after Rana brought his case in New York state court.

In the latest version of his lawsuit, filed in July, Rana alleges Hajdini coerced him into sex and demanded submission as a condition of career advancement. He also accuses JPMorgan of tolerating racism and sexual coercion that, he says, destroyed his career.

Rana, who is of Nepalese descent, alleges colleagues called him “brown boy,” said they favored people who “look like Jamie Dimon” and sent him a message threatening to call immigration authorities on his family. He resigned in October 2025 after about 1½ years at the bank.

JPMorgan denied Rana’s central allegations in a separate Monday night filing. Rana’s lawyer, Jon Norinsberg, said Tuesday that his client rejects Hajdini’s counterclaims and intends to defend against them. Both sides’ claims remain before the court.
