MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. The International Space Station (ISS) hosted an unusual dinner cooked by Russian cosmonauts under the online guidance of Russian chefs, according to Roscosmos.

"An unusual gastronomic dinner took place onboard the International Space Station: Roscosmos cosmonauts in orbit and chefs on Earth prepared dishes of modern Russian cuisine in real time using a gourmet kit specially sent to the ISS," it said.

The gourmet kit was sent to the ISS in July 2026. It was developed at the Gastronomy Institute of the Siberian Federal Institute under the leadership of Roman Chemerenko, brand chef of the Bellini restaurant group, and Vladimir Mukhin, brand chef of the White Rabbit Family restaurant alliance, in collaboration with specialists in the field of space nutrition.

"The menu was based on foods approved for use onboard the ISS. The crew reconceptualized traditional space food through the lens of modern gastronomy to cook a full-course dinner featuring familiar flavors of Russian cuisine," Roscosmos said.

The cooking process was crowned by a joint dinner, with the chefs and cosmonauts Petr Dubov and Anna Kikina tasting the dishes and speaking via a video link.

According to Roscosmos, the menu included three dishes cooked from mashed potatoes, white sturgeon, beluga caviar, pressed sturgeon caviar, Siberian vendace, borodino bread, beef tongue, horseradish, lingonberries, hazelnuts, condensed milk, homemade cookies, and fireweed tea with thyme.

The project was implemented by the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos, the Gastronomy Institute of the Siberian Federal University, and Prosto Cosmos, a communications agency in the area of space, education, and science.
