President Donald Trump has claimed only he can ensure the nation's safe use of artificial intelligence because of his 'high IQ' - a bold claim that comes amid mounting concerns over the technology.

'The only control or “guardrails” that AI needs is a strong and smart (High IQ!) president, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!' Trumps said on social media this week. 

His remarks come amid mounting concerns about the proliferation of AI, and after a spate of recent warnings that the technology could pose a threat to society or 'kill all humans,' as a lead researcher at Anthropic suggested on social media.

But Trump has alleged that 'there is a sick conspiracy going on against AI data centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China.'

It's part of a broader administration argument - that China stands to benefit from the US slow-rolling AI deployment - and some researchers have posited that anti-data center protests have been propped up by Chinese officials.

'Whoever wins AI, wins,' Trump continued. 'We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so. Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers, beware!
