Two children from Atlanta have been reported missing as authorities fear they were abducted by their babysitter.

Zola Cooper, 4, and her 11-month-old baby sister Norah were last seen with their babysitter near Jones Avenue NW and James P Brawley Drive NW. Both girls have been listed as critically missing since Saturday, August 15 at 6pm and may be in extreme danger according to Atlanta Police Department. 

Zola is around 3ft 9in tall and weighs about 42 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a multicolor dress. 

Norah is around 2ft tall and weighs about 28 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She is missing her index and middle fingers on her right hand, according to police. She was last seen wearing a pink onesie. 

An Amber alert was sent for the two missing girls on Monday as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation searches for a 2009 white Ford F350 with an Alabama license plate numbered 1C087Y4. 

The babysitter has been identified by police as Lakesha Brown. A woman with the same name was arrested for kidnapping in Jefferson County, Alabama in 2021. Police confirmed they suspect it is the same woman, according to Fox 5 News. 

A family friend told Fox 5 News that they were using a babysitter, who was an 'acquaintance' of the girls' mom Elica Redding, for the first time.

The babysitter then allegedly shared details of her plans to take the children to Walmart and a candy store around 6pm. She stated she would be home no later than 10pm, the outlet reported.

After the scheduled time had passed, the babysitter reportedly stopped returning the mothers calls and text messages. Redding later reported them missing to the police.
