Sorry to say, but the real answer is - it depends.
The nature of what you ask gives the impression you are new to the streaming world, so I'll answer making that assumption to speed things along. Please correct me if that assumption is incorrect

You do NOT just 'go live' {beware anyone that implies that is a simple question ... as there are decisions to make, prerequisites to be configured first, and once done, you most likely won't ask such a question} - 'Going Live' only happens (typically) AFTER you've picked a streaming service, setup up an account (typically) on that service provider platform ... not within OBS Studio, configured your OBS Studio stream output settings appropriately, etc.

First thing to realize is that the default of what OBS Studio sends out is NOT what receiving clients (your typical viewer) can watch. A typical free/consumer stream goes first to a streaming service, gets re-factored, then delivered to clients (not direct from OBS Studio)
So you have to pick something like YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or many of the content delivery networks (CDNs), though there are other options... it depends...
- can you stream direct to clients, yes, but that is technically sophisticated and usually demanding and not practical for most purposes.
- Once a streaming account setup, then you configure to point to that streaming service, enter your streaming account details into OBS Studio (stream key, usually), make sure OBS Studio's Stream Output settings match CDN's requirements (they vary by provider/service)

Personally, I find most YouTube educational videos on topics like these to be ... underwhelming as most people presenting do NOT have a teaching/education background and are unaware of their own assumptions and fail to mention significant caveats. As this is technical, a technical answer often helps, which written, edited, and thorough tends to be more effective. ymmv

Getting started can be quite frustrating due to the technical nature of what you are trying to do, and OBS Studio built to be powerful and flexible. Being free, open-source software (FOSS), as is common, the user interface is not easy for new users for complex/powerful software. Don't hold that against OBS Studio (or other FOSS) ... such UI design is time-consuming and expensive to be both intuitive for new users and not get in way of sophisticated users (basically requires 2 separate UIs).
