The seventh day of the Armenian Lacrosse and Daily Bible Readings journey brought Coach Johnny Mouradian to Vayk Stadium, where the road trip took a different setting. Instead of standing before a monastery or historic church, today’s reflection came from a place dedicated to athletics, teamwork, and the next generation.

It was a fitting reminder that faith is not confined to sacred buildings. It accompanies believers wherever they live, work, compete, and serve.

Standing on the field, Coach Mouradian reflected on a passage from 2 Corinthians 6, where the Apostle Paul reminds Christians of the calling that comes with belonging to God.

“What agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God.”

Paul continues:

“I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch anything unclean, and I will receive you. And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me,” says the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:16-18)

The message shifts the focus from a physical place of worship to something far more personal.

Under the New Covenant, God’s presence is not limited to a temple built of stone. Through faith, believers themselves become the dwelling place of God. That identity carries both a privilege and a responsibility. Christians are called to live differently, not to separate themselves from the world out of fear, but to reflect God’s character through the choices they make, the values they uphold, and the example they set.

There could be no better place to reflect on that truth than a sports field.
Athletics reveal character. Victory and defeat, discipline and perseverance, teamwork and leadership all expose who we are when no one is watching. For young athletes especially, the field becomes a classroom where integrity is tested just as much as physical ability.

That vision has long shaped the mission of Armenian Lacrosse. The organization is building more than teams. It is investing in young people, encouraging them to become leaders who represent their families, communities, and country with humility, discipline, and purpose.
Paul’s words serve as a reminder that faith is lived in ordinary places as much as extraordinary ones.

A believer’s witness is seen not only in church pews, but in classrooms, workplaces, neighborhoods, and on playing fields. Every interaction becomes an opportunity to demonstrate honesty, compassion, self-control, and respect for others.

As the Armenian Lacrosse and Daily Bible Readings journey continues across Armenia, today’s stop broadens the conversation. The Christian life is not confined to historic monasteries or sacred landmarks. It extends into every part of daily life, including the places where young people learn, compete, and grow.

Coach Mouradian closed the day’s reflection with the invitation that has accompanied each stop on the journey:

“Bring a friend to church. Bring a family member to church this Sunday and every Sunday.”

Tomorrow, the journey continues to Geghard Monastery, one of Armenia’s most remarkable medieval monasteries, carved into the surrounding cliffs and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, the next Scripture reading will continue the road trip through Armenia’s enduring Christian heritage.
