A new PlayStation 5 firmware update has officially arrived for everyone, after about a month of testing. The change log for firmware version 26.06-14.00.00 has changed in one major way since the beta first went live in August.

The Community Activity widget is now available for all players to add to their console's Welcome Hub. Community Activity wasn't part of the firmware's beta, but Sony has been testing the feature since May.

Community Activity has two views: Trending Now, and Top 10. Trending Now shows a list of 10 multiplayer games (or multiplayer modes within games) that are rising in popularity across PlayStation. This is where you can expect to see recently-updated games, hot new releases and games that got a sale bump. Each game tile also shows what pushed the game to get on that list, such as a surge in matches or hours played.

Top 10 is more straightforward, and it shows a list of the 10 most popular games over the last week. This ranking varies depending on your country or region, making it more accurate. You can probably expect these to be roughly the same week-to-week, though, if previous data is anything to go by. The only problem? Top 10 used to list player counts for each game in the beta, but that is gone from the final version.

You can see the difference between the beta from May (via TechPowerUp) and the current version (via SpawnPoint). The change is notable as it signaled at the time Sony may be following Steam's lead in showing player counts for games on its platform, even if the feature was never as granular or real-time.

Two other major features of firmware 26.06-14.00.00 have made it out unchanged from the beta. Those being the toggle to enable PlayStation's image upscaling tech (PSSR) by default on PS5 Pro, and the option to turn off Bluetooth at the console level in certain regions.
